Area 12 – Brent Knoll get 3rd place!

Brent Knoll Team came a great 3rd in Area 12 Dressage Championships.

The area Novice qualifying team competition was postponed until Sunday 22nd July although the week before Sunday 14th we did field a team in the Open competition.

Three riders did a novice test and one an elementary test. Our team of Ros Burridge on Zest, Celia Lewis on Charltons Rosewood, Amanda Jarvis on Nerreks Tia Lusso and Bev Gore on Village Raschel, who did the elementary did BK proud finishing 6th. Celia was 5th, Ros 7th and Amanda 9th and Bev 11th. Bev was 4th individually in a novice test.

There was not much between 2nd & 3rd with Mid Somerset out in front, so well done girls. Doing an individual test in the Prelim was Anna James and Jimmy, my horse, who did a good test to finish 6th. I was very proud of Jimmy as it was only his 3rd or 4th time out as he’s now following a new career since retiring from Nationl Hunt racing and has less than 2 full months schooling under his belt or saddle! so well done Anna and Jimmy.

The following week was Brent Knoll Novice team (all doing Prelim tests) we had to send a new team as it clashed with our Combined training that Sarha Urch was running and she had been going to ride for the team, I was going away so Jimmy couldn’t go.The team did a fab job to finish 3rd in the Area 12 Qualifiers, well done to the team of Dot Godfrey on on Holybrooke Astronought, Sue Francis on The Running Total, Ross Burridge on Zest & Tara Millard on Byrpro R. Ros was 3rd individually, Sue 4th, Dot and Tara just missing out on a placing.

The new venue of Kings Sedgemoore Nr Woolavington had a huge arena and as due to the weather some classes were postponed to the following week all tests ran on a very nice surface. Area 12 havent got any results up as yet, so I hope I’ve got all the individaul placings correct, Im sure they will let me now if I’m wrong!

Once again Thanks to all who took part and made the effort for BK.
