Brent Knoll Riding Club

Newsletter April 2008

Hello All,

We had a good day at our Spring Show, the weather was good to us with bright sunshine and entries were good, perhaps not as good as last year but most classes were busy. Thanks to all who came to support us. Big Thanks you to Lyn Woods who stewarded for the very busy Ring 1, 9 am finishing after 2pm! to Lyn Nettleton who was there from the start taking entries and didn't leave until it was finished. Amanda Jarvis who was steward indoors am and then outdoors pm and my friend Roy (we let him off being a Blackdown member as he always helps us!) who did a sterling job, starting as Car parking steward, ring steward, and poo picking steward, what a talent! Camilla Gore had an SOS from Bev as we lost a writer and steward for the first classes, so many thanks for stepping into the breach in the dressage arena and Thanks to Maggie Fawcett who wrote for the dressage after calling the test for her hubby, I expect I've forgotten someone, so apologies now! Hope you saw the new BKRC sweatshirts, it is PR for the club as people know who's running it and it helps when people are looking for someone for advice or a moan, surely not! The Hand did ring me yesterday to say the toilets were left in an awful state, so if you are there again with BK and see someone, small I expect, pulling out loo roll and throwing it all over the place, feel free to stop them! The committee all worked very hard to put the show on and run it, so a pat on the back to the them. Results will be on the web when I have a chance, except for Prelim 2, so anyone who was placed in Prelim 2 can you let know as some kind sole seems to have removed the results sheet and I can't find it anywhere.

Woodspring RC have invited us to a Skittle match, Wed 7th May at Rising Sun in Backwell, if you want to go let me know so we can put a team or 2 together, not sure if it costs anything will ask Sarah.

There is a Sidesaddle evening arranged for May 21st at Urchinwood Manor, 6 to 8pm, Sally explains all then you get a go, £18 pp please let me have your money ASAP to secure your place as it's limited numbers.

Lessons with Mary are via Bev, there will be others elsewhere arranged soon.

Dressage to music entries close 5th May, so let Laura know if you want to be entered. Prelim entries for the Area 12 Festival at Shaftsbury & Gillingham show ground this year, close mid may, so let Laura know if you are interested.

More to follow, but that's it for now.
