After a nightmare in the days before travelling not knowing if we had complete teams, we toddled off to the BRC National Championships in Lincoln with no expectations whatsoever. Little did we know the horses were going hold it together, pull it out of the bag and give us some amazing results.

What is is? E-riders is an online dressage competition, where each month you can enter one of their selected tests (ranging from Intro to Elementary) simply by submitting a video of you and your horse doing the test at home. You can wear your show gear or your home gear in the video. The E-riders Riding Club League - as the name suggests – is one of the competitions run by E-riders especially for Riding Clubs. Each month members submit their video tests and points are awarded for those people being placed from 1st to 10th, with 10 points for 1st place down to 1 point for 10th place. The points gained by all Horse & Rider combinations from each Riding Club are then added together to give the Club a total points score. Then, at the end of the league (which is a fixed 6 month period - see the E-rider website for more details) a trophy is awarded to the winning Club along with certificates and prizes for the top 3 Clubs. There are prizes for individuals too! 1st Prize for each class is a Treat Tub Voucher from Baileys Horse Feeds. Plus, at the end of the league the individual Horse & Rider combo with the most points will receive goody bags from Baileys Horse Feeds. Get involved!
MORE RULES Please read the rules for filming before you get started and then opt to upload by Facebook, YouTube or by their FTP link - again check out the rules page to see how to upload your videos and about the eligible tack! Also if you choose to use your show gear, they have asked that your horse wears bandages to show you are not actually at a show Wait! I want to do more!Well, there’s more to choose from!
Once you have the whole ‘competing from home’ bug, we hope that each month you’ll enter yourself into the Riding Club League under BKRC, but if you want to do it more than once a month, then you have lots more options to choose from: Categories include:

The Show Teams And Riding Stars event is a showing Championship created for Riding Club members to bring a touch of HOYS to the grassroots rider or handler. It was established in 2018 for Northern Riding Clubs local to Aintree Equestrian Centre where the Championship Show was held. It was such a success that for 2019 STARS have created a Southern STARS Championships which will be held at Addington, Buckinghamshire and they hope to grow further and roll out even more regional events in future. The Event Format Held over two days [16-17 November 2019] 30 showing classes with members representing over 60 riding clubs will be judged by HOYS star judges looking to select their champion of champions in each category. Each champion receives a rug, flowered sash, trophy and super prizes, but its not just the joy of victory for a few individual riders at stake.... Every competitor receives a rosette for qualifying and placing goes to 8th position AND there are awards in EVERY class for Best Rider, Best Groom, Rising Star and Best Turned Out. PLUS a chance to be crowned the STARS Supreme Riding Club of the Year with your fellow competing club members which is not just an accolade but also comes with a financial reward! How do I qualify? BKRC will hold 3 shows where STARS points will be awarded:
Your placing in each class will be awarded points. After the third and final BKRC points show, the secretary will collate all the points for each member and will contact the person with the highest points to offer them the chance to represent the club at the Championship. !! IMPORTANT !!
And once STARS has confirmed your qualification, you'll receive your Golden ticket through the post along with your bridal number and working in time, so your whole STARS experience really goes the extra mile to give you a touch of HOYS. This national quadrille competition attracted competitors from all over the UK. Each team of four had choreographed a performance to music and dressed both horse and rider in costumes to suit their theme. BKRC had originally chosen to base their performance on the Greatest Showman film, but after Sony put an out and out blanket ‘no’ on any replication of the film, the team had to quickly amend their performance. Brent Knoll Riding Club Chairman and Choreographer Amanda Williams explained “With just 3 weeks to go to the event it was all systems go as we set about changing the music and costumes. We had costumes from our previous quadrille competition, but we wanted this to be a fresh new performance. We called it the Circle of Life and used different music selections to our last show. Thankfully Universal were quick to approve our use of music and costumes.” Previously the team won the quadrille competition at the South West Equine Fair in Exeter. ![]() “Our team put in long hours of practice to make this performance a success. The sudden change of direction was disappointing for them, but they worked hard and committed to the changed performance and gave it their all” said Amanda. The team’s “Circle of Life” performance received a very creditable 8th place against tough competition. Our thanks to all who represented the club and as ever, if you want to get involved in any of the team or club events, please contact your committee. 8/10/2018 0 Comments BKRC AGM, AWARDS & SOCIAL EVENING![]() Friday, January 25, 2019 at 6:30 PM Ollie's Cafe Bristol Road, Brent Knoll, Somerset TA9 4HJ Catch up with other members, hear the latest club news, see what we have planned for 2019 and find out who will be this years trophy winners!
